The Face à Face writing desk won its designer, Pascal Mourgue, the Grand Prix de la Création award in 1985. Now, much to the delight of fans everywhere, Fermob has re-released this iconic piece with some extra, modern touches. Face à Face is inspired by the wooden desk with trinket compartments that was once a mainstay of every home – and a prime illustration of Fermob’s traditional know-how and metalwork expertise. It’s perfect for intimate moments alone. The fold-away door features an imitation-leather desk blotter, where you can write postcards, add an entry to your diary, or even do your accounts – all while listening to your favourite tracks on your smartphone as it charges.

The updated version of Face à Face is now fit for the 21st century, complete with two USB ports, a power socket, and clever storage compartments hidden away from view. Meanwhile, the trinket bowls have their own visual appeal, and are available in a choice of three colours. Which one will you go for: Capucine, Rosemary or Honey? But that’s not all.

This design-inspired writing desk also includes a keyring, magazine rack, letter rack, glasses holder, and smartphone or tablet holder. But despite packing all these features, Face à Face still folds away flat, taking up minimal space in your bedroom or lounge.
