This simple, no-frills table has a multiplex table top and a base made of solid wood. While you can, of course, use it as a dining room table, it also works well as a desk or a work table.

Multiplex, or plywood, is a highly durable material that is engineered by gluing together several thin sheets of wood. These layers tend to be visible around the edges. Multiplex allows us to make good-looking, very sturdy table tops since, unlike solid wood, it isn’t typically affected by sudden changes in temperature or humidity.
